Meet your guide in Piazza Santa Croce, beside Santa Croce church, home to the tomb of Michelangelo. As you walk through the city centre you’ll see the famous Ponte Vecchio, a bridge lined with jewellery shops that offers spectacular views across the city and the hills.
From here you’ll head to see the home of Florentine politics and the site of the Loggia are based in Piazza della Signoria.
Wander past the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most prestigious museums in the world, as you make your way towards Florence’s town hall, the Palazzo Vecchio. Admire the stunning architecture before heading on to the old market, where you will find a statue of a wild boar known as the "Porcellino" (little pig). If you rub the boar’s snout, you can ensure your return to Florence.
In Piazza della Repubblica, another famous square in the city, listen as your guide tells tales about the history and culture of Florence. Walk on to discover the incredible example of Florentine architecture of the Duomo (cathedral). Marvel at the iconic dome designed by Brunelleschi and take in the beauty of the marble façade.
At the end of the tour you’ll head to San Lorenzo’s Market. Here can you can grab some lunch or wander around the stalls to see the produce on offer. By this time you would have earned yourself a traditional gelato on us!
