  Basilica of Santa Croce

  The Basilica of Santa Croce is the largest Franciscan church in the world, renowned for its stunning architecture and rich artistic heritage. Inside, you’ll find sixteen chapels, many adorned with frescoes by Giotto and his students. This basilica serves as the final resting place for some of Italy’s most illustrious figures, including Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, and the composer Rossini, earning it the nickname "Temple of the Italian Glories."

  Duomo - Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore

  Piazza Duomo is home to the Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore, which ranks as the third largest cathedral in the world, following St. Peter's in Rome and St. Paul's in London. Completed in 1436, the cathedral's magnificent dome was designed by Filippo Brunelleschi. The exterior features intricate marble panels in varying shades of green and pink, framed by white, and is enhanced by a stunning 19th-century Gothic Revival façade crafted by Emilio De Fabris.

  Battistero di San Giovanni

  The Baptistery of St. John is a stunning structure renowned for its intricately sculpted doors created by Lorenzo Ghiberti. This octagonal baptistery is situated at the intersection of Piazza del Duomo and Piazza San Giovanni, directly opposite Florence Cathedral and Giotto's Campanile. As one of the oldest buildings in Florence, it was constructed between 1059 and 1128 in the Florentine Romanesque style.

  The Ponte Vecchio, or "Old Bridge," dates back to Roman times and stands as the oldest and most photographed bridge in Florence, spanning the River Arno. Originally home to butchers, the shops along this iconic bridge now feature jewelers, art dealers, and souvenir vendors, making it a vibrant hub of commerce and creativity.

  Fontana del Porcellino

  Il Porcellino, which translates to "piglet" in Italian, is the affectionate Florentine nickname for the bronze fountain featuring a wild boar. This charming sculpture was created by the Baroque master Pietro Tacca and was originally designed for the Boboli Gardens before finding its home in Florence.
