  Colosseum

  The Roman Colosseum, originally called the Flavian Amphitheatre, was commissioned by Emperor Vespasian in AD 72 and completed by his son, Titus, in 80, with later enhancements by Domitian. This iconic structure boasts 80 arched entrances, providing easy access for up to 55,000 spectators, who were seated based on their social rank. The Colosseum was built to host thrilling spectacles, including gladiatorial combat and wild animal fights, all intended for public entertainment.

  The Roman Forum served as the heart of Ancient Rome, functioning as a public space for locals to gather and engage in various activities.   Piramide Cestia

  The Pyramid of Cestius is a remarkable ancient structure located in Rome, near Porta San Paolo and the Protestant Cemetery. Constructed as a tomb for Gaius Cestius, a member of the Epulones, a religious corporation responsible for banquets and sacrifices, this pyramid dates back to around 18-12 BC. Standing at 36 meters high and made of brick and white marble, it reflects the influence of Egyptian architecture during the Roman Empire. Its striking design and historical significance make it an intriguing landmark in the Eternal City.

  Parco Archeologico di Ostia Antica

  Ostia Antica is an expansive archaeological site located near the modern town of Ostia, approximately 25 kilometers southwest of Rome. Once the main seaport of ancient Rome during the Republic (509 BC – 27 BC), Ostia Antica saw significant developments under leaders like Julius Caesar and Tiberius during the Empire. However, due to disease, the town was eventually abandoned and remained buried for over a thousand years until its rediscovery. Today, the site is renowned for its remarkable preservation of ancient buildings, stunning frescoes, and impressive mosaics, offering a fascinating glimpse into daily life in a bustling Roman port city.
